A Degree, a Corporate Career, and a Dream They Said Wouldn’t Pay

Speaking to nail professionals on business growth and financial strategy

Chloe didn’t take the easy road into nails — she took the real one. While earning her B.S. in Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising, she enrolled in nail school at night, paying out of pocket, driven by a passion her parents warned her against. “Nails won’t make money,” they said. She heard them — and kept going anyway.

After graduation, Chloe built a solid corporate career managing stores for Neiman Marcus, Target, and Walgreens. But on weekends and days off, she was behind the nail table — honing her craft, building clientele, and quietly proving the doubters wrong.

In 2010, everything changed. After having her son, she did the math: nails were already outearning her corporate salary. She walked away from Walgreens, stepped fully into her passion, and never looked back. What started as a weekend hustle had grown into a six-figure nail business — built on skill, persistence, and the refusal to settle.

“My parents didn’t believe nails could be a career. I went on to build a six-figure business proving that this industry is as serious as you decide to make it.”

That academic foundation — combined with real-world management experience at three major retailers — gave Chloe a business mind that most nail techs simply don’t have. It’s why Nail Tech Kit isn’t just about technique. It’s about building something sustainable: a real business, with real income, on your own terms.

If you’re struggling with pricing, finances, or client-building, Chloe’s blog and YouTube channel are full of practical strategies drawn from both her academic training and 21 years on the floor. Ask whatever you need — she’s been there.

Italy brought a different dimension entirely. In 2019, Chloe traveled to Rome to train at INJA under the late Marco Bonvicini — one of the most respected figures in European nail education. Alongside her was master international nail artist Akira, whose sculpted gel and high-fashion approach pushed Chloe’s artistry into new territory.

These international experiences gave Chloe the ability to merge global influences, technical disciplines, and cultural approaches into her own signature style — the breadth of training that separates Nail Tech Kit from content built purely on trend-watching.
